Where can i see good live bands in las vegas?

i have been to House of blues, seen jillians downtown, looking for bands not cheesey shows or jugglers and magicians. Not really bothered about things like the piano players in bars or saxophone player in fremont street either. Looking for proper bands either known or unknown.

An Interview With Drummer Mykill (mike) Aresco

Tribute bands usually play the music of a certain to get people through the door to see the bands OWN songs thrown in between the artist of tribute. Since December 2004, I have been watching one band in particular, a Slayer tribute act. Not once, has this band added their own music to their set list. NOT ONCE. When a fan of a band (particularly Slayer) is out on the town checking out live entertainment, they what to see what they are paying for, a tribute. Not a little of this and a little of that. So, do they have their own songs? According to the drummer of the band, yes. Dead Skin Mask is the most accurate Slayer tribute band I have ever seen. Monster drum kit, stacks of amps, and most important, the ability to convey the music through that equipment. That is what really counts. There is no Slayer act out there better than Dead Skin Mask, well except for the metal masters themselves. To date I have checked out a handful of them, since I have lived all around the USA. I have contacted the drummer of the band, to get the inside info on the Dead Skin Mask project and the progress of their original music as well as the scoop on what he is up to.

Slayer Girl: So Dead Skin Mask isnt dead!

Mykill: (Laugh) Nah! We are around. There are a lot of different things Im doing. Sometimes one is put on hold for a bit. But, with exception of one in particular, I really enjoy my bands.

SG: Which one do you not?

M: Hahaha! I .. uhh.. Yup!

SG: So I take it you dont like love songs?

M: No, not really. There is what I listen to. What I buy and what I compose. All 3 are VERY different. My CD collection would make you think Im schizophrenic.

SG: So you must practice a lot?

M: ahhll, mostly the only time I play is when we practice or play a show. The way my life is situated right now, does not really allow me to. When I need to write something, I pretty much compose it in my head, and am fortunate enough to be able to play my thoughts. Yea, it takes a run through or so, but not much more than that. I recall a time when what I would play in my head was way more difficult than I could actually do. I am glad that I have been able to develop the skills, in actual ability, to be able to do that. Real glad.

SG: What do you do to get ready before a live performance?

M: I try to get my hands on as much coffee as I can! (laugh) Usually that is difficult, though. I think we will have to add fresh coffee to our rider! I stretch a bit, do some little things to get the blood flowin. Usually the pre-show nerves and adrenalin are enough for that.

SG: So no pre-show rituals or superstitious activities?

Have you seen any good tribute bands live?

Were they able to create the band's sound note from note, or did they just do their own thing? Also, what do you think of them?

I saw a Beatles tribute band on a cruise ship back when I didn't know who the Beatles were. They kind of bored me. "Ringo" gave me and my friend his drum sticks though…but my little brother lost mine.

Where's the best place for live bands in Vegas?

I'll be in Vegas in June… and I am not to fond of the whole club scene. I'm a live music kinda girl sooooo where in vegas can I find a good band
live bands

Depending on what kind of music you're looking for, you have a bunch of options. Wasted Space at the Hard Rock has live music just about every night - Tuesdays is indie rock nite, Thursdays, they have the Sin City Sinners… Other nights, they have other acts. By that time, Diablo's at Monte Carlo should have bands upstairs. Ovation at Green Valley Ranch has live music almost every night - many of them are early shows, with the exception of Steel Panther on Fridays (starts at midnight-ish) and Sin City Sinners with whomever they bring in as a special guest on Saturdays - they start around 11-ish. I think on Sundays there's the Lazystars at Revolution at the Mirage… The Beauty Bar downtown (on Freemont East) has live music just about every night as well - mostly indie rock, but it varies.

The Doubledown is a total DUMP. I walked in, got six inches in the door, turned around and walked out. I wanted to burn my shoes - I ended up just sterilizing them. If Jimi Hendrix made an appearance there I wouldn't go!

For A Sure Hit…Hire The Right Wedding Or Corporate Dance Band

If you truly want to create a buzz and lasting memories on your wedding day or for your corporate party, be sure to hire the right wedding musicians or corporate event band. Forget the DJ and go with a live band. There is nothing like the sound and excitement of a band when all their instruments come together in perfect harmony.

Wedding and corporate dance bands abound, but there are only a few that will actually “bring down the house”. You want a band and its musicians to electrify your audience. Good bands can feel the level of excitement in an audience and adjust their music accordingly. A good wedding reception band or corporate dance band should also be able to play a good range of music, from the most current songs on the radio to songs encompassing the last 50 years. If a band can mix in some of their original music, you keep things interesting and your audience can enjoy the best of both worlds.

If you can find a band that has played with famous musical talents, for celebrities, Fortune 500 companies or dignitaries, you will get the added bonus of a very professional and highly respected band. This will also make your party “The Party” to attend, and your event will be talked about for years to come. Remember that a good band’s ability to entertain is only rivaled by their ability to get the audience up on the dance floor.

If you are fortunate enough to locate a 10-piece band, they will take your audience to an even higher level of entertainment. Of course a good singer will make the band “pop”, but the musicians themselves will really fascinate the audience with their instruments. The secret is to find a band whose ensemble is lively, entertaining and produces a spectacular musical performance.

The best way to interview a potential band for your wedding or corporate event is to do some of your own research ahead of time. This means visiting a few bands while they are playing a gig. Also, ask for recommendations from people who have hired a band before. If you can visit a band at several venues, you will get a real good idea of how they will sound at your event. In addition, a band that has played together for many years without a lot of turnover is a big plus. This will likely guarantee you and your guests a great experience.

In a nutshell, a wedding or corporate event band should be lively, at least 10 pieces if possible and have a good pedigree. There is no substitute for experience and when you find a band that meets your criteria, you will be glad you did your research.

Where is a good bar to watch live bands in Indianapolis?

Definitely the Slippery Noodle downtown. It's cheap and the enviornment is great - look them up online.
Other than that, you can catch local acts at the local bars - everyone pretty much has bands on Friday and Saturday nights.

Rage Against The Machine Tickets - The Angry Legends Return To The Stage

Rage Against the Machine tickets were some of the most sough-after on the music market in the 1990’s. The band’s eclectic mix of hard rock, funk and hip hop sounds took the world by storm, and their incendiary social beliefs have always been an integral part of the message they attempt to deliver. The band has been out of the spotlight for the past few years, but far from forgotten. However, Rage Against the Machine is set to return to the stage soon, and below we’ll take a look at why this announcement has created such an unbelievable level of excitement.

Early Beginnings

The band came together quickly in Southern California in 1991. Guitarist Tom Morello had left his former band, Lock Up, and as he was deciding on the direction of his career, he went to a club one night in Los Angeles. It was at this club where he heard Zack de la Rocha rap, and he decided that the two of them could form the foundation for a powerful group. The two got together and recruited the other two original members of the band, Brad Wilk as the drummer and bassist Tim Commerford.

The group’s first performance was humble in nature, but that status didn’t last long. Their first gig was at a house party in Orange County, and their innovative sound was an immediate hit with local fans. The band gave itself its current name and began to play the club scene in Los Angeles and Orange County, and Rage Against the Machine tickets became an immediate draw.

Commercial Success

The band’s growing reputation and following led many record labels to pursue them, and they ultimately decided on Epic Records because the company gave the band complete creative control. This control was a major issue, as the band’s lyrics often contained searing social commentary and lyrics that were extremely controversial.

The band’s first full album release, which was self-titled and put out in 1992, went triple platinum, and instantly installed the band as a household name with music fans everywhere. They continued their roll with each of their three subsequent releases, as all of them sold in huge numbers.

Their work was also noticed by industry experts, as Rage Against the Machine won two Grammy Awards and was nominated for several others. However, they were never really about commercial sales, but rather put their priority on live performances, which remain legendary in nature for their pure energy and anger towards authority in general.

Breakup and Reunion

In the year 2000, de la Rocha left the band because he did not agree with the overall decision-making of the band as a whole. This split persisted until early in 2007, when the band announced that it would be making an appearance at the Coachella Music Festival in Southern California. This announcement has created a frenzy of excitement, and Rage Against the Machine tickets are sure to be one of the biggest draws at this enormous musical celebration.

What does bands do when they have to go to the bathroom on stage at live shows?

I want to know this so bad
because I'm sure they have to go to the bathroom some time right
Live shows are always really long so yea
I wonder what bands do when they have to go
What do they do?
Do you know?
Help me please

They probably take a leak before,
and they're probably too energized/hyped up to even think about it. I know when Im on stage, I never even think about taking a piss even if before I went I really had to go.
