I personally like the Battle of Mexico City DVD the best. It is a red hot show, a great set list and the quality is much better than the self-titled. It is also a complete (well Bullet was cut out) show, which I prefer to compilations. Includes a tour of Mexico City and a documentary about the EZLN by Zack. Only annoying thing is an mtv like editing style which cuts every few seconds during songs, but I got used to it quick and barely noticed it after a while.

A beginner may enjoy Live at the Grand Olympic best. A compilation of 2 nights (last shows), both great, containing songs from all 4 albums. Great pic and sound quality; best of all three. Bonus show (most of it, anyway): the DNC 2000, great show, and some music videos.

Self-titled had clips from their 1st and 2nd tours, but mostly 94 and 96. Great clips, quality below the other 2.

Just check out clips from all three on youtube and make your decision from there.

Seriously, you may like both but when you’re older you still might want to watch the Nirvana dvd, RATM not so much.

Barfly, which is on the corner of the Queen Street (next to a bank and opposite the side of the castle) has live music. Prices are quite good.

You could try the Welsh Club on Womanby Street (walk down the street opposite the castle) . Drink at the Irish pub first (avoid Revolution) or there’s a Wetherspoons down Womanby Street. They have interesting bands.

For more well-known names try St. David’s Hall or CIA.

Franki Valli, Eddie & The Hotrods (in my youth) More recently Bon Jovi x 3, Korn supported by Flyleaf, Stone Sour, Apocalyptica, Dimmu Bogir, Alterbridge, Velvet Revolver. Off to see Rammstein this week. Wanted to see Metallica last year but missed out. VR were my fave (Slash was awesome) but think Rammstein will topple them in my ratings.

…hundred´s of bands in over 40 years….good ones, bad ones…one of the good ones was some years ago guitar shorty, the brother-in-law of jimi hendrix…..
