is it some kind of offence when bands play live loud music in the middle of trafalgar square?

with all drum set , guitars and amps?or in the middle of Piccadilly circus or in Leicester square? will police come and shut you down or will there be any fines or some sorts?

Firstly, the law now states that you must have a current License for busking. Without that, the police will force you to move on.

Secondly, there are rules about playing music before and after a certain time of day, so, depending on when you intend to be there, you’ll need to check on those times.

Thirdly, although you will need to be a bit loud to be heard over all the traffic, you will be expected to keep the volume reasonable. Basically, if people complain, lower the volume.

You need to be licensed to play music in a public place, this is why police always move on buskers who do not have an ‘official’ pitch.

You have to be licensed and you have to adhere to noise levels.
