The song is pretty simple. A contrast between a new life entering the world (baby born) and a life leaving (old woman dying). And there’s also hints of the idea of reincarnation—the spirit/soul of the old woman re-born in the baby.
this song is so sad … this song is so sad because, (im superstitous) (spelling) and my girlfriend who i love very much is suppose to die. i dont want to believe it. but i feel i have to accept it. this song is so depressing.
life and death … life and death makes sense, but the reference to placenta is why everyone thinks that it’s about two births and one living and the other dying. Then again, I feel life overrules in this song. Whether people lived or died–everyone is at peace in the end.
