What bands live dvd should i get?
I want to get a music dvd showcasing a bands live performances. I’ve been going back and forth between Nirvana’s Live Tonight Sold Out and one of the Rage against the machine dvds. and if i were to get a ratm dvd which one should it be
I personally like the Battle of Mexico City DVD the best. It is a red hot show, a great set list and the quality is much better than the self-titled. It is also a complete (well Bullet was cut out) show, which I prefer to compilations. Includes a tour of Mexico City and a documentary about the EZLN by Zack. Only annoying thing is an mtv like editing style which cuts every few seconds during songs, but I got used to it quick and barely noticed it after a while.
A beginner may enjoy Live at the Grand Olympic best. A compilation of 2 nights (last shows), both great, containing songs from all 4 albums. Great pic and sound quality; best of all three. Bonus show (most of it, anyway): the DNC 2000, great show, and some music videos.
Self-titled had clips from their 1st and 2nd tours, but mostly 94 and 96. Great clips, quality below the other 2.
Just check out clips from all three on youtube and make your decision from there.

Dude, totally Nirvana.
Seriously, you may like both but when you’re older you still might want to watch the Nirvana dvd, RATM not so much.
